Bare and Beautiful
Summer is right on the horizon – time to come in for a wax! We offer full body waxing services, so you can feel beautiful from head to toe. Here’s the scoop on all the waxes we offer, and how to keep your skin smoother, longer.
Waxing at Spa At The Lake
Now that we’re having some warmer weather, it’s time to make sure you feel comfortable in your swimsuit. Whether you prefer a more conservative bikini wax or you’re ready for a full Brazilian, our estheticians can help you find the right choice. We also offer leg, arm, underarm, and face waxing (lip, brows, and chin), plus back and chest waxing for men that prefer a smooth look.
Prep Smart
While our estheticians will take care to prepare your skin, there are a few things you can do before you come in that will help your skin react well to waxing.
- Evaluate your skin for any existing irritation or breakouts. If you see some, it may be wise to postpone your wax.
- Avoid sunbathing for 24 hours before your service.
- Gently exfoliate and moisturize the skin, it will soften hair follicles and the hair will release more easily.
- Make sure your skin is clean. Sweat and oil on your skin can make waxing more difficult.
- If appropriate, take an anti-inflammatory pain medication, like ibuprofen, approximately 30 minutes before your wax.
Aftercare
How you treat your waxed skin after your service is equally if not more important than how you prepared. Waxing does cause mild trauma to your skin, so it’s best to treat it gently after your appointment.
- Trade in baths for showers and avoid hot tubs for 24 hours.
- If you’ve come in for a wax on your body, wear loose fitting garments after your service.
- Moisturize skin with a gentle product 24 hours after waxing.
- Avoid using products with perfumes, dyes, or harsh chemicals on freshly waxed skin.
- Gentle exfoliation will help keep your skin looking clear and feeling good.
